Remodelling and extension unlocks this farmhouse’s potential.

— 17 January 2023

Oakapple Farm is situated in open countryside near the village of Marsh Gibbon in Buckinghamshire. The farmhouse had been extended and refurbished several times over many years. The result was a generously sized house with a series of spaces and styles that didn’t work together.

Our clients approached us to make sense of the space they had and maximise the potential of their home.

We’ve completely remodelled the ground floor layout at Oakapple Farm, with large new windows strategically located on all sides of the property taking advantage of far-reaching views and bring in lots of natural light.

A carefully designed central corridor unlocks the design and ties the ground floor spaces together. There are lots of practical and attractive features and details throughout the house, like glazed wine storage under the stairs.

There is now a lovely flow through the ground floor, into a new garden room extension and out to the garden. On the first floor we’ve created a new master suite and a guest suite, alongside further bedrooms and a family bathroom.
